SPINAL STIMULATORS, SPACERS, FUSIONS & KYPHOPLASTY

Fluoroscopy guided Minimally Invasive Advanced Spinal Procedures for severe cases.

These advanced procedures are done under fluoroscopy X Rays visualization in about 45-60 minutes under IV sedation for comfort, when basic steroid injections or Radio-Frequency ablation don't help. Procedures are done in an ambulatory surgical center. Patients are usually discharged home on the same day.

Spinal Cord Stimulators "SCS":

SCS Trial: it is the first step to evaluate how SCS would work on patient. It is a personalized experience to try it before you implant it. Trial consists of safely administration of two lead wires through two spinal needles under fluoroscopic visualization to place them along the spinal cord above area of neuropathic or sciatic pain. These lead wires will generate electrical current that would block the pain signals from reaching your brain. electric discharge settings would be adjusted to each specific patient by a remote control to get personalized best pain coverage. Trial last 5 days during which patient will be contacted by company Rep to help fine tune adjusts of settings. Patient by the end of the 5th day should know and document his/her satisfaction of trial. If not satisfied, due to unsatisfactory pain coverage, patient changed his mind or reluctant to implant these leads, Lead wires are just pulled out with no problems in 2 minutes in office like nothing happened.

Permanent Implant: if patient had satisfactory experience and coverage of pain with better ADLS, patient is taken back to OR for implanting new permanent wire and a very slim charge generator under the skin, so patient comes out with system implanted and nothing is showing on the skin.

**Patient would still be allowed to play with the charge settings as some activities might need higher settings.

**Battery life is 5-7 years and can be recharged by WiFi device charger externally to prolong the battery life.

**Most of these SCS systems are MRI friendly. Patient would still be able to get MRIs.
